Equivalentbehaviour’s photographic work is based on challenging the photographed and photographic object; finding new ways of representation both abstract and documentative.

Driven by darkroom experimentation and analogue photographic techniques, Katrina Stamatopoulos from Equivalentbehaviour specialises in analogue photography in small, medium and large formats, film developing, hand-printing in colour and B/W darkrooms, solarisation, cameraless photography, hand colouring and hand toning. Her implementation of scanning and digitisation is a tool for documenting the photograph as artefact.

With an interest in collaboratively working with makers, Stamatopoulos aims to challenge expectations of documentation, in opening up new visualisations of the maker, their craft, and the materials and methodolgies they employ.
